Dairy Plant Ltd. in Laszczow

The project was implemented in the first quarter of 2008. Recuperator 812kW power was installed and mounted on the exhaust outlet in the coal boiler OR5/16. In the design were used the copper heat pipes with aapproximately 2 metres of length and 25 millimetres of diameter. More than 800 pipes were mounted in diagonal position.
The exhaust gases at a temperature of 250-300 degrees Celsius heat the lower parts of pipes and then they are cooled to ca. 140 degrees. After that the gases are directed to cyclones. The feeding air, having enviromental temperature, surrounds the upper parts of pipes and heats them to a 80-90 degrees Celsius. In next step the warmed air is pressed by a fan to the boiler power system. What is significant, the condition of the owner to mount the recuperator was the requirement to put it on the outlet from the boiler before the filters. In that case all fly ash contained in the exhaust gas would stayed on recuperator. The earlier resolution caused situation that the filters were constantly damage by the influence of fly ashes, they had to be replaced very often, what involved huge expenditure, not to mention about the heat losses, which was thrown away in the chimney. Due to our innovative solution (laying at the correct angle pipes in recuperator couse that the striking fly ashes slide down and naturally fall down without doing any harm) we could recover a huge amount of heat. Recovered heat is converted to hot air inflatable back to the boilers in order to boost their performance. Despite the harsh working conditions recuperator operates reliably and maintain the temperature of the heated air at 80-90 degrees Celsius, depending on the load on the boiler. After installing our recuperator technical service of company have reported significant changes in the length of the flame burned fine coal and in the structure of slag discharged from the boiler, what testify the actual reduction of waste fine coal, better combustion and more complete burning of coal. In 2011, during the overhaul, we saw that even the first two rows of pipes (we afraid that due to the impact of the fly ashes they may be worn out) were not damaged at all. We saw, that the innovative heat pipes arrangement gave excellent results. TheDairy Plant reached a triple benefits:
- The heat that was thrown in the chimney, was recovered (recuperator has paid back within 21 months of work, what in energetics is something amazing);
- There is no more problems with pernament exchange of filters (currently work after heat recovery- time of their work last three times longer);
- The Dairy has a 912 kW recuperator for a price that was calculated for recuperator of 812 kW power (we mounted the extra heat pipes that might be damaged by strokes of fly ashes).
